Welcome to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary where we rescue and rehabilitate wildlife and educate our community about environmental conservation located in Jupiter Farms.
The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a non-profit organization with over 40 years of dedication to the protection and conservation of Florida’s wildlife and natural resources. To accomplish this goal the Sanctuary has a two fold mission of wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education.
Rescue
We rescue sick, injured, or orphaned native Florida wildlife. The Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that serves Palm Beach County. We rely on the public to bring injured wildlife to our wildlife hospital. Over the years, we have rescued deer, foxes, screech owls, hawks, bald eagles, squirrels, birds, and many others. Our volunteer rescue team is sent out to rescue animals that the public can't, such as raccoons, great blue herons, bobcats, foxes, etc...
Rehab
The Sanctuary’s wildlife rehabilitation efforts provide a much-needed community service in helping sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals. Last year we had over 5,200 patients come into our hospital! Our hospital staff works hard to take care of the many wildlife patients in our hospital. They feed the orphaned wildlife, perform examinations, administer medication, and much more. At certain times, our staff are taking care of more than 75 animals. All patients are examined upon the end of treatment and are assessed whether or not they can be released back into the wild.
Release
Our goal after rehab is to release our healthy animals back into the wild! Subscribe to our monthly emails to get updates on recent releases and like us on Facebook for public release events.
Educate
The Environmental Education Program at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a curriculum-based projected geared towards children and families. Through this program children and adults are given the opportunity to learn about native plant and animal species, and participate in conservation efforts to protect and preserve Florida’s wildlife, natural resources, and endangered species.
90% of the almost 6,000 patients admitted each year to the Sanctuary’s wildlife rehabilitation center have suffered from some type of human-related injury. Collisions with automobiles, fishing line entanglement, illegal gunshots, poisonings, and electrocutions, are only a small example of the types of injuries that are regularly treated and why education of the public is so important.

Equality Florida is the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community. We're changing Florida through lobbying, grassroots organizing, education, and coalition building — so that no one suffers harassment or discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. Our key areas of work include:
Public Policy & Community Organizing: As the only LGBTQ organization with a full-time presence in the State Capitol, we work to educate Floridians on the benefits of pro-equality bills and policies and the dangers of anti-LGBTQ legislation.
Safe & Healthy Schools and Parenting with Pride: We work closely with districts in implementing comprehensive best practices and policies to support and affirm LGBTQ students in Florida’s 3-million-student school system. We also provide parents with the resources they need to support their LGBTQ children.
Transgender Community Advocacy & Education: We’re the leading voice in representing and supporting Florida’s transgender community through diversity training, advocacy, and resource provisions.
HIV Advocacy & Education: Our goal is to curb the rate of new HIV transmissions in Florida and end HIV stigma through statewide public education campaigns and policy work designed to modernize HIV-specific laws.
Equality Means Business: To improve Florida’s reputation as a welcoming place to live, work, and visit, we highlight pro-equality businesses that have adopted comprehensive nondiscrimination policies and have demonstrated their commitment to valuing and proactively including all employees.
Healthcare Equity: We partner with healthcare and mental health facilities to ensure they provide the compassion and sensitivity that LGBTQ patients deserve by advocating for inclusive policies and increasing cultural competence among healthcare providers.
Reproductive Rights: Equality Florida has been a pro-choice organization since our founding – we know that these fights are deeply intertwined. We're a proud founding partner of Floridians Protecting Freedom and serve on the statewide advisory board.
Since our founding in 1997, we’ve become one of the largest statewide LGBTQ groups in the country with more than 300,000 supporters, more than 1,000 volunteers, and staff located in major Florida cities to organize and support our work.
